Will An Inhaler Ease The Breathing Process For An Adenoids-affected Individual?
Hi my doctor is suspected that my son my be having adenoids, we are waiting for an appointment to see a specialist. In the main time do you think an inhaler will help with his breathing especially at night. He opens his mouth throughout sleeping and stayed some seconds before breathing again. It got worst if there is a cold.
hi, I understand you are worried about your child's health. Adenoids are enlarged lymph nodes at the back of ones throat. inhalers usually work on deeper airways, decreasing their inflammation or dilating airways temporarily. I'm afraid there isn't much benefit your child is going to get through inhalers unless he has been diagnosed with some respiratory disease such as asthma. Since he already has some obstruction in his upper air passage, cold causing swelling makes it worse. I would advice for your child some antiiflammatory drug such as ibuprofen, if he is suffering from cold and throat congestion just to ease the obstruction somewhat, but definite treatment would be surgical for adenoids. I hope I have answered your question. wish him good health and speedy recovery
