I am 69 and my blood pressure registered 200/113 earlier today at work. Tonight is down to 157/113 and just now 160 over 107. The systolic has been running really good 135 -140 and diastolic 84-95. I take amolodapine bestylate 5mg. I am a really uptight person. Can anxiety drugs help me?

Hello Welcome here. Hypertension is an important cause of anxiety symptoms. If the blood pressure is controlled and anxiety symptoms disappear, then there is no need to take anxiety drugs. Anxiety drugs are not indicated for lowering down of BP. However if you have superimposed anxiety on hypertension, then anti-anxiety drugs like ativan (prescription drugs) are helpful. these drugs donot interact with BP medicines.
Hope this helps. Thanks
