Will Bulging Discs In The Back And Lumps Go Away On Their Own?

I have some bulging discs in my lower back, and have been using a heating pad on high heat for a long time, resulting in brown, mottled skin. This past few days I have noticed what was initially one raised hard circular lump (red) on my back, which seems to now be accompanied by several smaller raised red lumps surrounding the first lump. Will this go away on its own, or do I need to see a doctor?

Hello,

In most of the cases medical management will be more than enough. You can take analgesics like gabapentin for pain relief. In severe cases steroid injection to the spine also be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
