Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I am a 27 year old male with mobitz type 2. I have always had asthma and have taken medication for it my entire life. 7 years ago my doctor changed my prescription to Advair and told me to take it everyday morning and night as opposed to before where I only took my puffers when I needed them. After 2 years of taking them twice a day I started noticing an irregular heart beat from time to time. And I was diagnosed with Mobitz type 2. My question is will a catheter ablation cure this problem, and if not how many years will it take in your opinion for a cure for this disease by available?
Hi and thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.
I am so sorry to hear about this irregular heart beat. catheter ablation is not used in the treatment of this condition. Most clients with this finding are often asymptomatic and require no further medical attention beyond monitoring. I will suggest that you meet and talk with a cardiologist for a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan. Do not be too worried about this because in most persons it never gets any more concerning in the future.
I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and please feel free to for more information or clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
