I'm 26 weeks pregnant and suffering from severe coughing.i have history of pneumonia during childhood days.could it affect my baby?Is it deadly in pregnancy?I'm very much worried because I'm carrying our firsr child...I'm already 32 years old...it took us 5 years for me to get pregnant.
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the severe cough might not directly effect the pregnancy but any persistent or recurrent infections might lead to preterm labour. So I suggest you to rule out respiratory infection which is associated with fever, altered productive sputum.Sputum can be sent for culture and sensitivity for accurate treatment.Avoid the factors which aggravate cough.
