Will Fatty Lipoma Become Attached To The Spinal Column?

I have a fatty lipoma probably about the size of a large pea from what I can feel. Will this become attached to my spinal column or nerves or something like that? Or can I just leave it in without worry? I was supposed to have it out this coming Monday and I called and cancelled the surgery this afternoon.
