Will Follicular Study Scan Show Fertilization Of Egg With The Sperm?
Will follicular study scan show fertilisation of egg with the sperm or not ? My wife had tablet CLOME during her 2-6 day after her menstral cycle and followed by follicular study and the size of the egg was found to be 14X15mm and she has been suggested to have Duphaston twice a day. Is it possible to know on teh follicular study whether she is pregnant or not.
AGE - 35 years , Height - 5 feet ; Weight - 60 kg ; Medical History : Two Miscarraiges ; HSG test done ; Hysterocopy surgery done to removed the adhesions ; Male partner sperm count normal ; Egg formation found to be good during the follicular study.

Follicular study is not used to know fertilization of egg with the sperm.
It is done to demonstrate development of ovum till ovulation.
By knowing about ovulation,couple can have multiple intercourse for maximum chances of fertilization,as maximum chances of fertilization is within 24-48 hours of ovulation.
Ovulation is indicated by mild free fluid in POD and non visualization of dominant follicle etc.

2.It is done in order to monitor the ovulation, dominant follicle, follicle size, when it gets ruptured - the medication is indicated.
3.And patient is asked to have intercourse at the time of the follicle rupture.
4.The size criteria is there 13 - 17 mm which is cutoff for getting pregnancy - you are having normal size ( with in limits).
5.If HSG says normal spillage on both sides and follicle size with in limits - possibilities of getting pregnancy are there.
