Hi,
Welcome to HCM!

Yes, if the mother is diabetic, there are chances of some complications in pregnancy and baby (Chances only, not certain).
Once the mother is diagnosed as having gestational diabetes, it becomes a HIGH RISK PREGNANCY.

Some common complications are:

Large baby (macrosomia)
Premature labour pains
Polyhydraminos (large quantity of liqor)
Future diabetes
High blood pressure.

However, by taking proper care of your diabetes, most of these complications can be prevented or managed well. There is nothing to worry about.
Ensure you are regularly examined and investigated by your doctor to foresee and complications.

Hope your query is solved. Feel free to ask if you have any doubts.

Wish you a successful pregnancy.
With regards,
Dr. Sridhar
