Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am on flucloxacillan 500mg for a week i have a day and a half left of the course. I have very severe heartburn especially after taking the capsule. I never normally suffer from heartburn ever. Do you think the flucloxacillan is causing this and what can i do?
Though flucloxacillin is a safe drug with very few unwanted effects. But still rarely you may get symptoms like gastric irritation (heart burn) or nausea etc. If you can tolerate these symptoms, you should complete the left over course. Usually such symptoms will go by themselves with stoppage of your medicine. If still the symptoms are there, then you are advised to see a doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
