Will Hormone Patch Help In Reducing Hot Flashes Along With Lobular Carcinoma And Ductal Hyperplasia?

Hi i m inquiring about menopause and symptoms, major hot flashes...i also was diagnosed with lobular carcinoma in situ and ductal hyperplasia, wondering if a hormone patch would be in the cards to help me with my symptoms. I m not sleeping and I am exhausted from my hot flashes?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Hormonal patch (estrogen) will help in controlling the hot flushes.
However, estrogens also increase the ductal hyperplasia and can cause ductal carcinoma in situ or even ductal carcinoma.
This happens because the breast tissue is hormone responsive.
You need to consult your doctor for complete evaluation and to titrate the dose of estrogens which not increase ductal hyperplasia and atypia.

Thanks and take care
