Will I Have Difficulty In Walking With A Bruise On My Inner Upper Calf After An Injury?

ok -I fell day before yesterday and went to ER. They gave pain meds and little else. I don't know why my leg suddenly gave way, and I have a bruise on my inner upper calf, that has a slight indent and non bruised place in the middle. I could not walk on that leg right after falling and threw up due to the severe pain. Now I can walk but wondering if my leg will suddenly give out again?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
From description it seems soft tissue injury or ligament injury. If proper immobilisation is not given at the time of injury, healing of tissue or ligament might get hampered. You need an x-ray to rule out any bony injury.
I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
