Will It Be Okay If I Have A Bleeding Cut On Head Due To Injury?
Hi my names Emily. Not too long ago (maybe 30 min ago) I was running around the house with a friend. This is gonna sound really weird but she picked up a hair brush and threw it and it accidentally hit me in the head I noticed I was bleeding really bad but that s normal because the head has more blood vessels, as I was cleaning it up I noticed it was a small gash. It s probably the length of a quarter and as deep as the length of a new eraser on a pencil. I am applying pressure and as of right now I m not bleeding. I feel fine for right now, I m not sleepy, I m stable, I just want to know if I will be okay? I worry about everything and I always think worse of things. So I would love someone to help me out and tell me if I ll be alright.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Praveen's Response
Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM. I would treat to stop the bleeding from the head/scalp by applying pressure bandage.Futher if the cut is deep/long i would prefer to suture it using absorbable/silk so that it does not a leave an ugly looking wide scar after healing.Tetanus toxoid injection is a must (if not had in the last 3 years). Hope this answers your query.
