Will Iv Amikasan Injections Cure Bacterial Infection?
Sat, 4 Jun 2011 You will need to do Culture and Sensitivity testing for this bacteria because it is known to have resistance towards common antibiotics. Accordingly, the correct antibiotic will be administered to cure you. doctor did culture test and as per the result she ask me 2 inject iv amikasin injection twice a day for 5 days.after this treatment will i able to get cured.will it attack me again after sometimes.i am breastfeeding my 2 month old baby .is there any effect on my baby.pls tel me.
Firstly, if blood culture was done and tested sensitivity to amikacin, then administering amikacin is correct. Although amikacin is not given in isolation. It will be combined with another antibiotic, depending on the infection you have. Secondly, Amikacin is safe to be given during breast feeding. it will not affect your child.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
