Will Normal Ovulation Happen When On Ortho-tricyclin Lo?
I have a question regarding my birth control pills. I am currently taking Ortho-TriCyclin Lo on the 28 day cycle. I know that the pill is supposed to inhibit ovulation. My questions is does my body temperature still rise and fall as it would when not on the pill throughout my cycle? Why is it that I must use a form of barrier protection during days 1-7 if I don t ovulate? And if I do ovulate while in the pill, would it occur around my normal ovulation time?

Orthotricyclin lo is a contraceptive pill having two hormones in first 21 pills and blame pills for 7 days after that, when bleeding is expected. It does avoid ovulation if taken regularly as per medical advise and if there is no ovulation, there won't be fall and rise in temperature (which is seen in normal menstrual cycle at ovulation time). Thus, the temperature change while on pills is due to some other cause.
The pill may have reduced effect when some other medication like antibiotic is added for health problem. In such a case, only an additional barrier contraceptive is needed.
