Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had sex after 7 days of my period with my husband. We used condom but i am not sure whether the condom has protected us or not from pregnancy. So, just a day after sex, i had i-pill. Since after 4 days, I didnot bleed however i can feel my uterus lining breakage. Did i-pill saved us from pregnancy? When can i expect bleeding after that i-pill?
Using I pill may delay your period by up to one week. Taking I pill is an effective way to prevent pregnancy. Since the pill works by introducing hormones into your system, it can affect your menstrual cycle. Some women may have lighter bleeding and others may skip their periods entirely. Your period on the I pill is known as withdrawal bleeding, referring to the withdrawal of hormones in your pill and in your body. The drop in hormone levels cause the lining of your uterus to shed. This bleeding may be slightly different than the period you had before taking the pill. If you don't get your period within 3-4 weeks of taking the I pill, take a pregnancy test.
Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
