General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Anytime there is a delay in the periods of a sexually active woman, a pregnancy test should be done to rule out pregnancy.

If the pregnancy test comes out negative then she is not pregnant and her periods should come in the next 2-3 weeks.

If her periods do not come in the next 2-3 weeks it may be better that she sees her doctor.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Regards,
