Will Physiotherapy Help To Recover From Avulsion Fracture Of LCL?

Hello doctor. Myself Leela from Bombay. recently while dancing i hurt my knees feeling some zapped my knees and i sat down. i didnt stress the knee later on went to the doctor. The x-ray stated that i have avulsion fracture of Landyl condyl bone - it means that is a ligament tear of LCL. I want to know how much time does it take to recover from it. Is surgery the only option or i can cure it with physiotheray or homeopathy medicine.

Hi,

Ligament injuries need treatment based on the degree of tear, physiotherapy and other conventional methods of treatment are successful for lower degree of injury, ligament tear along with avulsion fracture comes under higher degree of tear and usually don't respond well to other therapies, would recommend you to undergo the surgery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
