Will Prolonged Pushing, Pulling Heavy Objects Increase The Degenerative Process ?

I am a 53 year old female. I have mild multilevel spondylosis and multilevel foraminal narrowing. Prior to May 2011, I had no symtoms of neck problems. I am shocked by the results of my MRI. Would repetitive work such as mine of 5 years, pushing, pulling, 500lb. carts, lifting erogonimacally incorrect, increase the degenerative process ?

Hello,

These degenerative changes of the vertebral column are closely related to the heavy work that you have been doing.

For this reason, I would recommend trying to avoid weight lifting and trying to maintain a normal posture. Physiotherapy and a cervical collar can help improve your situation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
