dear Doctor i am 28 year male and i had intercourse with a hooker on 19.04.14 during my Thailand trip.. and i also don t know her hiv status, after the completion i found there was a little punctured on my condom. This punctured was not on the top of the condom but it was at one side of the front airy area of my condom (at bottom part of airy area) . My penis was not exposed. I found my semen was coming out from that puncher. I quickly removed it and cleaned my penis with paper napkin and washed it with warm water and soap. Dear Doctor, is there any chance to getting aids? when should i attend the hiv test?
thank you for query. The chances of transmission of HIV by sexual route is 1/ 200 to 1/2000 even if the partner is HIV infected. It is least as you have protected intercourse. The puncture is in the safe place for you and there are no chance of secretions of female to come in contact with your penis.so there is no chance of Stds or HIV to occur.but diseases which can be transmitted by touch also like herpes can be transmitted. You can allay fear about HIV and STDs.No need for HIV testing. If anxious go for antibody testing now as already it is too old.You can get back for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and venereologist.
