Will Regestrone Help In Getting Periods?

I am 27 year unmarried sexually active female. After delay in periods of 5 days doctors advice to take regestrone After taking 5 mg regestrone for 4 days there is no sign of periods. I did rapid urine test which is negative.Doctor asked to continue the regestrone till 7 days.I m scared please guide me.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

To rule out/confirm pregnancy, please conduct a urine pregnancy test, which can be done at home. The best time to conduct this test would be 2 weeks after last sexual contact or on the first or second day of a missed period.

Please use an early morning urine sample for this test, this will be most accurate. It is also recommended to repeat this test 2 to 3 times to confirm a result. Blood HCG test is more sensitive to detect pregnancy.

Usually, bleeding appears after stopping regestrone with in 3 to 5 days as withdrawal bleeding. Wait for few days, not to worry.
