Will Smoking Weed Worsen The Healing Process Of A Ruptured Eardrum?
Hi, I have a ruptured eardrum that developed from a cold. There’s no more blood draining and my hearing is starting to get better. There’s not that much fluid draining, just a little. I have no pain and the swelling is gone, so I wanted to ask if I could smoke weed. I’m a daily user with severe anxiety so it’s very hard to go without. I haven’t smoked for the past 3 days- if i choose to smoke, will my ear just get worse?
It is not a good idea to smoke weed with a ruptured eardrum that is getting better. Smoking weakens the immune system, and it damages tissues in the ears, nose, etc. Weed use may trigger ringing in the ears is associated with several side effects, including hearing loss. Smoking weed may cause coughing. Coughing too hard can result in rupturing the fragile eardrum that is healing.
Be gentle with yourself, let the healing process complete. Get connected to a detox center and start reducing the dose gradually. Gradual tapering of the dose will also cause withdrawal symptoms. Being connected with a detox center will help to manage the withdrawal symptoms so that you can successfully come out of your addiction.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
