Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Will Switching Birth Control Pills Put Me In A Risk For Pregnancy?
My question is a birth control question. I was taking Necon 1-35 for years but it recently stopped being made. I received the generic form of Cyclafem 1-35. I was wondering if there will be any lapse in protection while switching between the two. I have finished the inactive pills of Necon and took the first active Cyclafem pill yesterday.
No, there is no risk for it. Both have the same effect but you need to keep in mind that you are taking it properly.
It is important to know which pill is taken when, as I assume that you took the last pill of the full month plan and started the new one as per the day.
So there is no need to worry and visit us back if you have any questions further to be answered.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
