Hello,
Do continue to take the medications you have been prescribed by your treating doctor. It will give you temporary relieve. However, since you are having difficulty in sleeping (
insomnia) and have
hypertension. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get your cardiac check up done & get treated for hypertension and any other pathology (
thyroid issues, kidney disease, etc) detected.
To prevent headache stay well hydrated, avoid exposure to sunlight and take warm shower regularly. Avoid sedentary life and do regular walking. Insomnia is caused by stress (physical and emotional),
depression, anxiety, anxiety, drugs / alcohol, psychological causes (anger, grief, trauma, worry). If left untreated it may get worse leading to bipolar disorders or other mental problems.
You are suggested to
consult a Psychiatrist / Counselor, get clinically assessed and get all investigations (blood and imaging tests) done. You may need antidepressants and anxiolytics for a couple of days. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, large evening meals, avoid naps, keep your bedroom dark & cool.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
