Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started on birth control pills for the first time in December 2013 and noticed some anxiety after 3 weeks of being on it. I asked my gynecologist if the medication could cause this and she said yes. I began having more anxiety and what felt like panic attacks. So I just stopped the med on February 17 th I feel like I'm still having the anxiety and sadness. I did start a period today and know my cycle is now messed up. My last period was 2 weeks ago. My question is what type of doctor can I go to to get an anti anxiety medication? I feel like I'm going crazy
I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. You know the cause and effect. You are already sure that the anxiety is caused by birth control pills. As your gynacologist said, birth control pills do create such a condition. That is it. Once you stop it, the condition should be cleared within a week or so. You are having it again and again an panic attacks because you are apprehensive about the medicine side effect. Leave it aside. Medicine side effect cannot go for more than a week or so. But worrying about aniety should increase anxiety an give you panic attacks.
You need behavioral Psychotherapies which I can provide you if you come up with a premium question with all those details about you.Alternately you can visit a psychiatrist for medicinal treatment.
Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications. Good luck.
