Will Taking Either Progynova & Gestone Can Lead To False Pregnancy Result?
Hello, I have recently undergone an embryo transfer on the 8th of April this was done at day 7 rather than day 5 after fertilization. Today being the 17 th of April, I have taken a home pregnancy test and its positive. Can this test be false? The embryo s were from a donor and my medication is Progynova and Gestone, do either of these drugs give false pregnancy results? Bec
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. Neither Progynova nor Gestone can lead to a positive pregnancy test. However, after an embryo transfer, it is not wise to judge the success of the procedure by taking a home pregnancy test. It is always recommended to go for a blood B HCG pregnancy test, that will definitely tell you if you have conceived or not. This should be done in conjunction with a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan. All the best to you for the baby. Take care.
