I had thyroid cancer which was cut out - and cured I had a total thyroidectomy, but the Doctor ( my cardiologist) put me in spironola954-ctone will I be at increased risk of a cancer tumor taking this drug - does it increase blood sugar levels as well my sodium and chloride are low and he still put me on it I am on telmisartan 80-25, atenolol 100 mg twice a day, aldactone twice a day 25 mg each dose, clonidine .6 mg ( I take .2 at 6 am, .1 at noon, .1 at 4 and .2 at 7 am. I am also on norvasc 5 mg and a potassium supplement. Please help me understand why I am on so much medicine so far I have had resistant high blood pressure after my surgery on 4/19. Will I be okay taking these drugs? I am worried about cancer risk from aldactone and all the other side effects like raising my blood sugar levels or lowering my sodium even more and chloride my sodium is 130 and chloride is 91 and telmisartan raising my blood sugar levels my glucose is 102 and A1-C is 5.3.
