ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,looking at your symptoms, the cold which you suffered 6 to 7 weeks ago might be the cause of Eustachian tube blockage(it is a tube which connects ear with the nose and is responsible for the equalization of ear pressure with the outside atmospheric pressure.)

Because of Eustachian tube blockage, due to unequal pressure between ear and external atmospheric pressure,Tinnitus and reduced hearing might occur.

You might get benefit by taking Oral and Nasal Decongestants,Antihistaminics(like Cetrizine) and Mucolytics.
Do steam inhalation.
Do valsalva maneuvre(breathe in and then close nostrils and mouth and then blow your cheek)-it may also help in opening your eustachian tube.
Avoid Cold and very sweet food as they increase mucus production.Avoid dust and other pollutants.Avoid listening to loud sounds as they may further aggravate tinnitus.Avoid giving importance to the sounds of tinnitus-ignore it as it is not a life threatening situation.

In most of the cases ,by taking above measures, when your ear pressure gets equal to the outside atmospheric pressure,Tinnitus and reduced hearing will go.Only if there is no improvement even after one month, you may need a follow-up consultation with an ENT Specialist doctor.

Hope this answers your question.Take care.
