General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
* Pregnancy will not be affected by the bilateral dermoid of ovaries you have.
* Investigations done to get information about cyst, so as to relieve mother from problems like pain. For this purpose radiation exposure In CT scan is harmful to baby as well as mother,
- There is 1:1000 rise in cancer risk for the baby.& mother has chances of getting infections. SO CT scan is to be done only in case it is a must- & is advised by treating doctor.
Instead USG can be of limited help in diagnosing with least side effects.
Thanks.
