Will The Strep Throat Be The Reason For Low Blood Cell Count?

I went to the doctor today and had a low white blood cell count. The doctor said this meant I didn t have strep throat, although I have an extremely painful sore throat. She didn t perform a throat swab. Does the white blood count completely eliminate the chance of it being strep throat?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Strptococal throat infection cant cause low white blood count. Low blood count may be some viral infection or leukemia or lymphoma. Please get complete peripheral blood picture, serum LDH level and ESR LEVEL.
