Will The Sudden Jerk On The Car Cause Harm To The Pregnant Lady And There Is No Bleeding?
Hi, My wife is 5 months pregnant and last week my car went into a pot hole hard and came up. My wife was sitting next to me with the seat belt on and felt the jerk. Will this harm the baby any case? Also my nephew(2 yrs) accidently through a plastic ball(bit heavy) and it hit my wife stomach. May i know if these 2 incidents harm the baby? She dosnt have any bleeding or any pain but still concerned. I will be checking with the doctor on sat.
Hi, Thanks for the query. As there is no pain or bleeding there may not be any major problem. Better to go for ultrasound once to check the wellbeing of the baby. If the fetal cardiac activity, movements, placental condition, liquor everything is normal, no need to worry. Better to be careful in future. She can continue with regular followup checkups and ultrasound examinations. If rarely any abnormality like placental hemorrhage etc detected, the management should be planned according to the extent of hemorrhage, condition of the baby, gestational age etc. Take care.
