Will Vision Improve After The Oil Is Replaced With Saline?
Age 60 6 feet 189 pounds controlled BP, Cholesterol. There was to trauma, past ocular surgery to the left eye, ocular disease or FH ocular disease. I had a victrectomy (os) x 3weeks with silicon oil used. Procedure included repairing few retinal tears, lots of blood in the eye caviy, macular hole and a few non macular holes repaired, Macula off (around 3 days prior to surgery) ERM peel. I see yellow (compared to the good right eye). Slight metemprohosia centrally (Amsler grid) and objects appear smaller and further along with extreme blur. Current Best Corrected VA a poor 6/120 assuming no vitrectomy comlications, my question is Q: Will my vision improve significantly after the oil is removed and relpaced with saline?
Yes because the oil in the eye changes your refractive power and cause an addition of numbers.....so once the oil is removed the vision will improve but to what extend depend upon how your retina functions after it is completly healed.
