Will Watching The Tearing Down Process Of One S Own Home Harm A Child?

Good Afternoon Dr.. My grandson is almost 2yrs old. His parents ~ my son and his wife are building a new house on the same property that the old one is/was on. The family has moved to a lovely house while their new one is being built. His parents have told me that he asks often about going home to his old house and having his books and toys in his old bedroom. He wants to go home. Understandable. My question is: My grandson loves big trucks and earth movers, anything that is big and moves stuff and makes noise. His old house is being torn down soon by earth movers. We were going to take him to watch, but I have a feeling that this might cause him more harm and concern about his home and himself. What do you think

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thanks for using HCM, I understand your concern and will try to give you my medical advice, I think that is going to be less traumatic to your grandson if you start to prepare his mind for the big change is coming to his life, if he enjoys everything related to the construction could be an excellent idea let the child be part of the process, unexpected change in the children life can lead to serious disorders. I hope that my advice has been helpful
