i went to the doctor because i was having bad anxiety problems that have been torminting me for a long time now and he diagnosed me with organic personality syndrome and gave me a prescription for zoloft both of my aunts have anxiety and nerve problems they take klonipin and they are telling me that zoloft will do nothing to help my shaking and teeth grinding and other problems what should i do is there any advise you can give me
Teeth grinding is also a habit seen in cases of severe anxiety, some times it becomes compulsive behaviour. You have severe anxiety and teeth grinding. Zoloft is sertraline and this is a drug of SSRI group of antidepressants and anti anxiety dugs. The drug has good efficacy and it can control anxiety effectively. It will help to decrease the teeth grinding behaviour by relieving underlying unconscious anxiety. Klonopin is clonazepam and is benzodiazepine drug, the drug cause improvement in anxiety in terms of symptoms for short periods only. Zoloft will help to remove the anxiety. I would advise you to consult your psychiatrist regularly and don't listen to any unqualified person.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
