Winamp in the middle of a nose bleed that started spontaneously. I was able to stop it in about 20 minutes by pinching my nose. On may2,2016 I had a very long nose bleed which lasted over one hour. Stoppe d for 1/2 hour and restarted so I went to the ER. They stopped it using liquid cocaine. Two days later I developed a DVT and was started on xarelto. Two days after that I was admitted to the hospital with a hemoglobin of 7.1. I was given two units of blood. Started on a heparin drip. Given several iron IV's. It was also discovered that I had pulmonary embolisms in two lobes. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy with normal findings. Echo was good
Cat scans were good. Did find a hiatal hernia. After one week I was discharged on xarelto. Just started the 20 mg dosage today..once a day. This past Tuesday had the endoscopy with the camera...again normal findings.
I am wondering if the first nosebleed Which was my first one ever could have caused either the low hemoglobin or the DVT. So far tonight's nosebleed hasn't restarted. If it does I might go to the ER.definitely not as severe as the last one on 5/2 where the blood literally poured. Thank you for your consideration.
