with a stent (since May 9th, 2008) is it safe to have a MRI scan ? I have a stent which was implanted in May 9th, 2009. Now, on May 20th, 2010 I will have an MRI. I ignore the type of my stent. I know it's metalic. Is it safe to have an MRI scan having a stent>

Its better to discuss with your radiologist about it because it depends on the exact area where the stent is placed and the location where the MRI is to be taken of.
