Good Afternooon Doctor, Till the month August my periods was regular. like it use to come exactly between 18th to 20th of the month. on september i did not get periods. and i took some medicine not to come becoz my marriage was fixed on 2nd of October. Then on 8th of october its started and ended on 20th. After October, till now i did not get my periods. 28th of November , i checked through prega sure.. it showed negative and on 25th of december also i checked it showed negative. Now my Doctor has advised to use Deviry for 5 days. she told me once you stop the medicine within 10 days you will get your periods. Exactly why this is happening to me?? I am worried that i will get pregnant or not?? I wont to get pregnant and i want a baby. Kindly advise me wat to do in this case?? Regards, Jasmine Solomon

Hi,

Menstrual irregularities can be seen due to many causes like

-Stress and strain, changes in food habits, exercise or sleeping pattern, weight changes etc by affecting the hormonal levels
-Poly cystic ovary disease
-Anemia, thyroid hormonal imbalance etc.

As you have taken tablets to postpone the periods, sometimes this might also affect your menstrual pattern.

Now as you have taken Deviry as advised by your doctor possibly you may get withdrawal bleeding soon.

Try to take healthy balanced diet, do regular exercise and maintain normal body mass index. Usually menstrual irregularities with minor hormonal fluctuations will regularize with this.

Once your cycles regularize you may able to conceive. If the irregularity still persists, you need to get evaluated.

Clinical examination, investigations like ultrasound, hemoglobin levels, thyroid profile, blood sugar levels, serum prolactin levels estimation etc can help to find out the possible cause of your problem and treatment can be taken accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri SR
