Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Within 48 hours my foot went numb and then it moved all the way up my leg by and butt talks and stop there. It remained numb for one month and then four days ago I started having horrible cramps on the foot – meaning it felt like if I put any weight down on my foot that the muscle would literally rupture or split. Then that sensation start to move up and around my ankle on the left side. Three days ago the right bottom of my foot in the exact same spot where the left foot started to get Nam is now going numb and that very tight muscles and sensation is across my right ankle. I Went to the emergency room when the left leg went completely numb and was put in the hospital for six day went to the emergency room when the left leg went completely numb and was put in the hospital for 5 days where 6 MRIs with and without contrast of every section of the back were performed, a spinal tap was done and a brain scan as well as very exotic blood work. Everything came back fine – no lesions, no MS, no transverse myelitis, etc. etc. etc. I have had two different nerve conduction test for everything came out normal as well. I have never had any pain down the leg and foot – total numbness. But now when I try to put my foot down the muscles feel so tight that I cannot walk and it is now moving to that Achilles heel and ankle. I am now in a wheelchair because I cannot walk I have seen an infectious disease specialist and an orthopedist and still no one has an answer. Any advice suggestions or resources are very very welcome / thank you in advance for your time
