Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Within the past 2 months I went for 2 chest x-rays. The first one showed an ill defined density in the lower half of my left lung. My doctor told me it could be overlapping blood vessels but I have no idea what that means. She then ordered a pulmonary test which I failed epically at (the lady doing the test could not get a good reading and I kept getting light headed so we stopped) and she also ordered another chest x-ray. Today I went in for results and she said the second x-ray still showed some abnormalities so she put an order in for me to receive a CT scan on my lungs... It could take months for me to get in for one as Canadian health care is kinda crappy in that way. Basically , I would like to know what an ill defined density is ... Sometimes the left side in my back actually hurts and I feel pressure on my lungs where I feel like I cannot get a full breath of air. I'm also wondering if smoking cigarettes and cannabis could be a factor. I used to also snort a lot of cocaine and speed/meth. I am actually quite concerned because what if the meth I snorted wasn't actually meth , could that have gotten Into my lungs? Maybe I am worried a little too much but it's stressing me out and I would just like someone to tell me what "ill defined densities" and "overlapping blood vessels" mean in a way that makes sense to me like I'm not a fellow doctor or nurse so those words are like rocket science to me... Thank you for your help
