Woke Up With Heart Palpitation, Cold Sweat, Dizziness. On BP Medicine, Terbinafine For Fungus. Caused By Terbinafine?
Yes, I woke up this morning with heart palpitation, cold sweat, a little sick at my stomach, and dizzy. I made it to the phone and an ambulance took me to the ER. My BP was 88/44.They ran test and X-Ray and found nothing and sent me home. I am on blood pressure medicine Lipitrol. My doctor prescribed Terbinafine 250 MG for toe fungus. Other than high blood pressure nothing else is wrong. I am feeling a little dizzy now. Could I be having a reaction to the Terbinafine?
The Lipitrol you are taking is not a drug for BP but a herbal supplement to improve your lipid profile. Most probably, your cholesterol is high, therefore, doc has put you on Lipitrol.
Next, no doc can give you drugs when your BP is 88/44, which might be considered as low and explains why you had heart palpitation.
In general, Terbinafine use is not related to blood pressure disorders.
I would suggest to have regular meals (do not miss them); drink plenty of fluids and get some rest. Occasionally, you can have a cup of coffee per day until your BP goes up to 100/60 or 110/70 (within the normal ranges).
Hope it helped!
