Would Buccal Mucosa Urethroplasty Surgery Have Caused These Problems?
Hi, I am 32 years old. Last year I have undergone buccal mucosa urethroplasty surgery and it was successful. Recently I got married and at the time of intercourse my penis is not getting harder for long time and premature ejaculation. Does the surgery leads to these problems, If yes how to overcome?
Yes. Any alteration to the original anatomy can affect the physiology. However, many cases of erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation can be psychogenic, meaning there is a mental/emotional cause. Recently getting married can be a major stressor in many peoples lives especially with the financial burden, these stressors tend to affect our bodily function. You can give time to monitor symptoms once you settle into married life and if they symptoms do not improve, you should follow up with your urologist to reassess what I’m assuming to be originally a urethral structure. But also a primary care evaluation may also be helpful to asses testosterone levels, vascular health, and mental health.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. David Hoch, Internal Medicine Specialist
