Would Familial Cholesterol Cause Cholesterol Levels To Be High?
hi, I was just wondering, my cholesterol when checked a month ago was 5.7, now i have been eating very healthy and was wondering with that score would there be a possiblity of it being 'familial cholesterol'? Some say it would be very high if that was the case. Thanks
Based on the information you have provided, total cholesterol level of 5.7 mmol/L is borderline high. It is highly unlikely that you have familial hypercholesterolemia. However, lifestyle changes including healthy eating (as you have already begun) and regular exercise is a must to keep these values in check. Also, frequent monitoring of your blood levels for lipid profile is needed.
Hope this helps.
