Would Issues With Valves In The Body Cause Open Sores On The Legs?

Hi my name is Tina I am all most 52 years old I am having problems with getting open sores on my legs. I was 36 year s old when I first started to open up on my legs. Then they stop opening up for about 9 years and I can not get them to stop opening up I get my left one heeled for a little bit then it starts opening up again I even have compression sock s and I even opened up when I had them on. They say my valves stopped working and the doctor I have will not touch me because of my heart but I think I can get a valve replacement done.

Hi.

As per your history, your are most probably suffering from Vascular ulcer which could either because of venous cause or arterial cause. But there are many other possible diagnoses for vascular ulcers. You should follow general measures such as proper cleaning and dressing of ulcer.

You may require USG doppler scan to assess blood vessel status in the legs. So, I kindly request you to consult your Surgeon/Dermatologist to confirm the cause for the ulcer and for the apt management.
