Would Losing Hair, gaining Weight & Not Gaining Height Are Problems Related To Hypothyroidism?

Hi, I am Ash. 17 year old, female. Have been hypothyroid for several years and on daily dose of thyroxine. I have been losing hair, gaining weight and not growing taller - are these, by any chance, issues related to hypothyroid and if so do these suggest that the dosage might not be enough?

Hello,
I carefully read your concern and I am giving you some more information.

What is important during treatment of hypothyroidism is to take the adequate dose of thyroxine and to have normal TSH levels.

You didn't report how your TSH level has been during adolescence. If you have found the proper dose is recommended to check the TSH every 6 months, if not you must change the dose and check the TSH after 6 weeks until you find the correct dose.

If the TSH has been within the normal ranges during these years than is not hypothyroidism the cause of your symptoms.
Hope you have the information required.

Best regards,
I find this answer helpful
