Would Weaning Off Ventilator Cause Collapse?
My mother 83 years old had extradural hemorrage and was put on mechanical ventilator 20 days back was getting siezures and was given epeliptical injections unconscious. Doctors had put her on weening mode but she could not take proper breathe again they had put her on full mode. Doctors say if we remove ventilator she will collapse. She is diabetic also . Pl. advise

in my hospital i wean off from SIMV mode to CPAP mode then extubate which has less chance of collapse
