Wrist Fracture, Swollen. Applied Ice After Removing Half Cast. Okay To Remove Cast?

Hi I fractured my wrist yesterday and the doctor put a half cast on it for now because it was to swollen to have the full cast put on, then wrapped a tensor around it. It is starting to swell more, and feels better when I remove the cast for a bit then ice it, is that ok for me too be removing it thanks anyhelp would be much appreciated

hello..
as u said that there is fracture of ur wrist with swelling..i hope u might have been given medicines to reduce ur swelling and pain too..
commonly wrist fractures are usually colles fracture which definitely need cast to be put on and immobilized for atleast 3 wks ..so putting ice is ok but not a permanent treatment for fractures .. u need to go to orthopaedician for a cast or any surgical procedure over ur wrist depending on ur age and physical conditions..
