The X-ray findings are suggestive of pulmonary tuberculosis. This has to be further confirmed by microscopy. A sputum examination or FNAC of the lung mass for acid positive bacilli (AFB). Once the microscopic examination isolates the AFB, complete treatment for tuberculosis can be started. The treatment is called anti tubercular treatment (ATT). ATT consists of a combination of 4-5 days and the treatment continues for a period of 9 months to 12 months. Regular drug intake is a must. The ATT has to be supplemented with muliviyamins and liver protective drugs.
