Yes, I am a 71 year old woman and recently had a routine pelvic and breast exam which were fine. I asked the doctor if she could also do a pap smear since I have not had one in over 5 years and she said that after age 65 it is not covered by insurance. So, my question is...what if cervical cancer has begun but is just not physically visible. Because I am not a young woman with a whole life ahead of her, do insurance companies and doctors just not care about this for someone my age. I was really shocked to hear what she told me and it is causing unnecessary worry. What would you suggest please. Thank you.
