Breast Cancer And Brain Metastasis. What Is Her Lifespan?
dear sir my mum has been diagnosed with breast cancer an year ago.now she had brain mets and since it is a 6cm lesion ,its not amenable to surgery.she is given dexamethasone and focussed radiation therapy with temozolomide for ten days.she is daily taking eptoin?what is her lifespan?it is 3 months past since her radiation was over.she is now ok and is on drugs.she is motile and is able to carry on normal activities in a slow pace

She is in stage IV of Breast Cancer as the Tumor has spread to other Organs as far as Brain. For women with stage IV cancer, the goal is to improve symptoms and help them live longer. In most cases, stage IV breast cancer cannot be cured. Keep in mind that the best source for prognosis information is your physician. How many years she will live cannot be exactly predicted but according to the statistics, The 5 year survival rate is 20% in Stage IV.
See to it that she takes her Medications regularly as directed by her Doctor and goes for regular follow up. Let her go for regular Brisk walks for an hour daily and eat healthy nutritious balanced diet like fresh fruits and Green Leafy Vegetables.
