Can Hysterectomy Cause Complications After Having Sex?
I had a hysterectomy four years ago. My husband can not get pass this so he doesn't want to have sex because he said he think that he may hit my intestines. I had my uterus and tubes remove. Is this possible? What is left in the location where the uterus was
Please tell your husband that he need not worry about hitting your intestines as the stump is totally closed with sutures and no opening into the abdominal cavity remains. That is, the vagina does not communicate into the abdomen. So there is no risk of injury to your intestines during sexual activity.
Best wishes.
