Child With Bil Hydronephrosis. One Kidney Retains Fluid. Bladder Muscle Thicker. Long Term Effect Of A Thickeing Bladder Wall? Child With Bil Hydronephrosis. Bladder Muscle Thicker. Long-term Effect Of A Thickening Bladder Wall?
my 13 yr old son has bil hydronephrosis . 3.5 years ago had bil pyloplasty s. one kidney continues to retain fluid at a contant. (remains hydronephrotic) as well as the other kidney, just not as bad. had yet another follow up today in chicago and was told his bladder muscle was was actually getting thicker, and the kidneys still remained the same as before! not worse, not better. what is the long term effect of a thickeing bladder wall?
A few more questions before i can give you my opinion. I am a pediatric urologist and would like you to please answer these to the best of your ability
i) does your boy have any wetting of his underclothes, wetting the bed, poor urinary stream ?
ii) has he had urinary tract infections even after the pyeloplasty ?
iii) has your boy had any difficulty passing stools / soiling his underpants ?
iv) has his spine been evaluated for spina bifida or has he undergone any test like Urodynamics ?
v) Has he had a Voiding cysto urethrogram - a test where dye is placed in the bladder and then he is asked to pass urine and xrays taken at this time
If anyof the above tests are available, it would be useful to upload / mail these as well.
